There are quite a number of local home inspectors in and around the London area. I do not take a stance towards recommending one over another, although there are some very important questions that should be asked to any home inspector you are considering. Some of them are:

  • What qualifications do you have?
  • What professional organisations do you belong to?
  • What liability insurance do you carry? Many home inspectors do not cover any additional insurance, and are only liable for the cost of the inspection itself. You want to ensure that they will do a thorough job, and carry some form of insurance to ensure you are properly protected. They should be able to provide you with a copy of the insurance certificate.
  • What tools will you use to perform your inspection? Some of the more modern tools being used by home inspectors include moisture meters, carbon monoxide detectors, and multi-gas meters. The more technology being used to check out your potential purchase, the better your chances of the inspector finding any potential problems before closing.
  • What areas will / will not be covered by our inspection?

A list of some of the inspectors our clients have used is included below for your reference only. There are many more that can be found by looking in a local phone book. Again, I do not specifically endorse any one home inspector, it is up to you to determine who will best meet your inspection needs.
